What I would give to be at that Rock Festival! I love Franz Ferdinand and Snow Patrol! Of course, Miyavi too. Black Eyed Peas....what the hell are they doing at a Rock show? I vaguely remember liking Placebo, but I'm not really sure.

In any case, I'm going to be seeing Arctic Monkeys on the 31st--it should be an amazing show!

I don't think he necessary likes all the other performers so much as it's just a low-commitment performance. He's only up for one day of the festival, so it's not as stressful as committing to a tour or anything.

Hoping I have fun with Arctic Monkeys too~

He's preforming around more and more American/English bands, eh? I must say, I don't like it. Isn't that awful? I want to keep Miyavi my own little secret! It's not that I'm greedy, it's just... I feel that if he gets involved with the American music wave, he'll be tainted. His music won't be the same and his new fan base won't be the same. You see, we his current American (and other non-Japanese) fans had to find him the difficult way. I can't explain. Oh well. ^.^ I just wish him luck and that this preformance goes good!

Actually, as bad as this may seem, I always got the feeling from Miyavi that his appeal is the kind that would not translate very well to American audiences. He goes against the western-Rock-and-roll grain a little too strongly (ideas about masculinity, what rock as a genre "should" be about, etc). I don't think you really need to worry about Miyavi being up for a lot of international consumption. What I would worry about, through, is how much more popular he's getting in Japan--so much competition with the native fans!

Dragon Ash is a Japanese band. I mean, it's a Japanese Rock festival, so I'm assuming that the bulk of bands are Japanese and pretty indie and the advertising is just riding the famous names for all they're worth.
